Sports Ministry, GFA Form Committee to Select Next Black Stars Coach

The move, announced by Sports Minister and Member of Parliament for Buem, Hon. Kofi Adams, is aimed at rebuilding confidence in Ghanaian football and strengthening the technical direction of the national team.
The Ministry of Sports and Recreation, in collaboration with the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has constituted a five-member committee to assess and recommend a new head coach for the senior national football team, the Black Stars.
The move, announced by Sports Minister and Member of Parliament for Buem, Hon. Kofi Adams, is aimed at rebuilding confidence in Ghanaian football and strengthening the technical direction of the national team.
The committee will be chaired by Fred Pappoe, with former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah, former Ghana international Anthony Baffoe, Faisal Chibsah and Agbesi Dzakpasu, Esq., serving as members.
The committee has been tasked with assessing potential candidates and recommending a suitable coach to lead the Black Stars.
Members are expected to submit their report by Friday, October 9, 2026, to guide the next stage of the coaching appointment process.
The initiative comes as the Ministry and the GFA seek to restore confidence in the national team and improve its technical leadership.
