Speculation has grown in recent months that the former Black Stars captain could consider a move into football administration, including a possible bid to lead the country's football governing body after his playing career.
Former Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu says he is unaware of any plans by Andre Ayew to contest for the presidency of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
Speculation has grown in recent months that the former Black Stars captain could consider a move into football administration, including a possible bid to lead the country's football governing body after his playing career.
However, Agyemang-Badu, who played alongside Ayew for several years with the Black Stars, says he has no knowledge of such plans.
Speaking to Pulse Ghana, the former Udinese midfielder said he would not rule out any possibility when it comes to the future, stressing that people should not make definitive statements about what they may or may not do years from now.
"When I was growing up, my dad told me that there is no position that, if people said you need to contest or take, I should say, 'No, no, no, I don't want it'. I don't know tomorrow," he said.
"What I say today, tomorrow people will use it against you.
"Even me right now, if you tell me I will be President in Ghana, I will say yes, it's possible. Because after 10, 15 or 20 years, I don't know. If you say I will be the chief of my village, Seikwa, I will say yes."
Agyemang-Badu was also asked about comments reportedly made by former Nigeria captain John Obi Mikel, who has spoken highly of Ayew's leadership qualities.
The former Ghana international believes Mikel's assessment could be significant given his experience and his relationship with Ayew.
"If somebody says something about Andre Dede Ayew, Mikel Obi is a well-experienced guy. He knows Andre very well. Maybe he has seen something about him," Agyemang-Badu added.
However, he insisted that he could not confirm whether Ayew is considering a run for the GFA presidency.
"For him standing for the FA presidency, I don't know. I don't know his ambitions. If he wants to stand, it's free," he said.
"Tomorrow I can even pick forms, provided that the laws of the game fit me to be a contestant. There's absolutely nothing wrong.
"I don't know his ambitions for now. But somebody like Mikel Obi, if he has brought something up like this and speaks highly of Andre Dede Ayew, it's a plus for him. The D-Day will come, and we will see what will happen."
Ayew and Agyemang-Badu have a long history together in Ghana's national teams, having played key roles in the country's historic triumph at the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Egypt, where the Black Satellites became the first African team to win the tournament.
Ayew later established himself as one of Ghana's most prominent players, eventually succeeding Asamoah Gyan as Black Stars captain and earning more than 120 international caps.
