Tema port records busiest quarter as container traffic climbs

Container volumes at Tema port reached a record high, boosting Ghana's position as a gateway for landlocked Sahel markets.

Port authorities said the terminal handled more containers than in any previous quarter, driven by transit cargo heading to Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger.

Logistics firms say faster clearance times have made Tema increasingly competitive with other West African ports.
