UAE Supports 300 Ghanaian Pilgrims for 2027 Hajj

The support was formally presented under the leadership of H.E. Dr. Abdulla Murad Sulaiman Mohammed Al Mandoos, UAE Ambassador to Ghana, in a ceremony attended by senior Ghanaian government officials and representatives of institutions involved in Hajj affairs.

The Government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), through its Embassy in Ghana, has extended support to the Government of Ghana to facilitate the participation of 300 Ghanaian Muslims in the 2027 Hajj pilgrimage. The support was formally presented under the leadership of H.E. Dr. Abdulla Murad Sulaiman Mohammed Al Mandoos, UAE Ambassador to Ghana, in a ceremony attended by senior Ghanaian government officials and representatives of institutions involved in Hajj affairs. Among those present were Hon. Mahama Ayariga, Minister for Local Government; Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Minister for Foreign Affairs; and Hon. Yussif Jajah, Deputy Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts. Representatives of the Ghana Hajj Board and other relevant government institutions also attended the presentation. They included Sheikh Ali Abubakar Napari, Executive Director of The Light Foundation (TLF), the Chairman of the Ghana Hajj Board and other officials. The initiative is expected to provide an opportunity for 300 Ghanaian pilgrims to undertake the sacred pilgrimage with support from the UAE Government. The gesture further reflects the longstanding relations between Ghana and the United Arab Emirates, while highlighting the two countries’ continued cooperation in areas of humanitarian assistance, religious affairs and people-to-people relations. The support is also expected to contribute to Ghana’s preparations for the 2027 Hajj and strengthen cooperation between the two countries in facilitating the welfare and participation of Ghanaian pilgrims.
