Veteran Nigerian actor and African screen icon Pete Edochie has paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), Sammy Gyamfi, during his visit to Ghana.
Edochie is in the country to launch the African Legacy Project, an initiative focused on celebrating Africa’s heritage while inspiring and supporting the continent’s younger generation.
The project includes a book, a documentary film and an African Youth Mentorship Initiative, which is expected to reach about 500,000 young people across Africa.
During the meeting, Sammy Gyamfi expressed GoldBod’s willingness to support the youth mentorship initiative. He noted that the programme fits well with GoldBod’s Special Intervention Programme, particularly its focus on social impact and economic empowerment.
GoldBod’s work is also highlighted in Pete Edochie’s new book, which makes reference to Ghana’s efforts to ensure that the country’s gold resources are used to support national development.
The meeting brought together two prominent figures around a shared interest in Africa’s development, youth empowerment and the preservation of the continent’s legacy.
